Board of Directors

David Sheon, Co-Founder and Executive Director

Mr. Sheon has advised entrepreneurs of privilege on marketing communications strategy for over 30 years. He applies his knowledge to advise Carrot participants.

Erin Andrews, Chairperson

Erin is the Founder and CEO of indi chocolate. She started in finance as a senior manager for PricewaterhouseCoopers, and later pivoted to the chocolate business after taking her kids to Belize to see cacao beans growing on trees. Her work has ranged from the cocoa farm to body care to chocolate products as she has grown her business.

Mark Fiebig, Vice-Chair

Mr. Fiebig is an entrepreneur and Board Chair Emeritus for the Accelerator YMCA in Seattle. Mark has over two decades of experience starting or fixing companies, and leading change inside and outside organizations, ranging from ideation to operations, fundraising and investor relations, to board and executive team recruitment and management.

Frank Alavarado, Treasurer

Frank is a Vice President at HomeStreet Bank and is a graduate of the ASU W.P. Carey School of Business and Leadership Tomorrow. “A leader takes people where they want to go. A great leader takes people where they don’t necessarily want to go, but ought to be.” — Rosalynn Carter

John Clifford, Secretary

Mr. Clifford is Senior Director of Training and Development, Pagliacci Pizza, having worked his way up the ranks over the span of more than 15 years. “The people that I work for, the people who work for me…it feels like a family,” he explains. John is constantly learning and growing, as an employee, a father and a volunteer leader.

Lisa Narodick Colton,Chair, Sustainability Committee

Lisa’s consulting business focuses on strategic planning and communications consulting for non profit and small business clients. Darim Consulting also leads development of “pop-up” events, festivals and other community organizing mechanisms. She volunteers with several local and national nonprofits.

Jolene Skinner, Chair, Governance Committee

Ms. Skinner is the HR Site Leader for Devices & Services at Amazon. In addition to her HR and leadership experience in a variety of corporations, Ms. Skinner was also the Founder and Executive Director of Impact Nashville, a non-profit women’s giving circle composed of women who live in and are dedicated to improving the Greater Nashville Area.

Kenny Pleasant, Board Member

Kenny is a real estate investor and commercial broker with Global Investor Solutions. Mr. Pleasant navigated poverty, quit formal education at 8th grade & later studied rigorously to educate himself. He worked multiple jobs including ironworker before becoming an entrepreneur.

Advisory Committee

Denise Brown, Chair, Finance Committee

Ms. Brown is Controller, Molly Moon’s Handmade Ice Cream. She handles all things Finance and HR related, including payroll, budget and data analysis to help ensure the business runs as smoothly and efficiently as possible. She also helps manage Molly Moon’s generous benefits – health insurance, life insurance, transportation subsidies and the 401K plan.

Jeff Lindstrom

Mr. Lindstrom is Program Marketing Manager, YMCA of Greater Seattle. He creates customer personas and journeys, and marketing campaign strategies, tactics, and analysis that achieve programmatic and organizational goals. He was previously the Program Director at the Accelerator YMCA, managing 4 social service programs. Jeff volunteers with multiple nonprofits supporting and empowering youth.

Tevin Gladney

Mr. Gladney is a licensed realtor, an entrepreneur, a counselor at Safe Futures Youth Center, and former peer advisor, King County Employment Services. He is passionate about giving back to others, and cultivating strong business partnerships.  In 2020, Tevin earned a Next Economy MBA in Social Economics.

Derek Anderson

Derek Anderson is Founder, Owner, and Managing Member of Final Touch Detail, a business he started in 1981. A lifelong resident of Seattle, Derek is beloved for his commitment to his clients, staff, and community (and his dogs). He wants to see Seattle’s young entrepreneurs thrive and we are thrilled to have him on our Advisory Board.

Donnie Le, Participant Representative.

Donnie is a Community Carrot cohort 2 graduate; Founder and CEO of Sherwood Goods, an online store specializing in products from minority owned businesses.
